OOS Aquaculture Launches a major shrimp processing project in Morocco oriental region, creating over 1500 jobs in the nearby future.
October 28, 2025 – Morocco / The Netherlands – Exciting news from OOS Aquaculture, part of the OOS Group! The company has officially signed a business agreement with the Moroccan government to build a state-of-the-art shrimp processing plant in Morocco — a major milestone in OOS Aquaculture’s global expansion and commitment to sustainable seafood production.
Thanks to the incredible support of the Moroccan authorities, including the Ministry of Finance and AMDIE (Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency), CRI and Audiflex consulting.
This project has become a reality. The Moroccan government will provide up to 43% in incentive investment, enabling OOS Aquaculture to move forward with this cutting-edge facility.
The new plant will have the capacity to process 3,500 tons of shrimp annually and will create up to 800 direct jobs, along with approximately 1,500 indirect jobs — a major boost for the local economy and aquaculture sector.
Construction permits and environmental approvals have already been granted. Building is set to begin in January 2026, with the official opening planned for late 2026 or early 2027.
Morocco has been chosen for it’s strategic location, a very strong government support within the emerging aquaculture industry.
