Record-breaking navigation on the Yangtze River.

On October 9th at 10.40 am and under strict control of the Nantong Maritime Safety Administration’s sea cruiser and 6 powerful tug boats, the world’s most advanced semi-submersible heavy lift crane platform OOS Serooskerke slowly left the shipyard berth and started the tow down the river.

The OOS Serooskerke platform was built at the China Merchants Heavy Industries (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd shipyard. The vessel is equipped with 6 single 3800KW propellers and a DP3 closed-loop dynamic positioning system.

With the tugs in attendance the total length of the towing formation was 399 meters and the width was 101 meters. These dimensions and the difficulty of the operation make this a record-breaking event for navigation history on the Yangtze River.

The OOS Serooskerke was temporarily dock at the Taicang Port Container Terminal at 1600 o’clock on October 9th and leave the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River in the early morning of the 10th, heading for the Shanghai Luhuashan anchorage.
